Although networking and teamwork are slightly the same but there is a big functionality in the business industries. Networking is about helping or sharing knowledge to each other and teamwork is necessary for a group of people to accomplish the same objective in business. But I’d rather choose networking as a strategy to fulfill the goal of our business because it is a powerful marketing method to achieve and sustain professional success. Networking is a lifestyle for everyone especially when we want to have our business become more successful; it's about building the right set of relationships that make us an insider, not an outsider. It’s an exchange of information, contacts and referrals. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas about teamwork and networking. I’ve learned a lot in your blog.

Clwyd Probert @ Business Networking in London Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13775745370751669023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33097494.post-12679642120224241082013-09-18T10:05:16.149+00:002013-09-18T10:05:16.149+00:00I too don’t believe it’s my place to just suddenly...I too don’t believe it’s my place to just suddenly open the doors and pour all these people to them, so it’s also being clear about what’s the nature of the relationship between me and these other people and what are their expectations in terms of protecting that relationship too.
You deserve appreciations for giving out!

online marketing strategies

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877545509060244480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33097494.post-60261583355986008312012-07-08T17:18:31.044+00:002012-07-08T17:18:31.044+00:00When you just met someone and you think they may h...When you just met someone and you think they may have something of value then you need to communicate like this.

I just met so and so and he accomplished this and accomplished that. I think, though, we need to remember that networking takes a lot of people out of their comfort zones, and there's nothing wrong with being supportive where possible.

I attend a number of events every month. My focus will depend on the event, I am a member of some groups to boost my profile, others to learn and exchange ideas and others again to get referrals.

If I understand my focus and how to participate accordingly, I get results. I’ve had people turn up to our events wanting to be ‘buddied’ and have their hands held – if people had this mindset in day-to-day business affairs then nothing would ever progress.

I think what you said in your newsletter is an important point “you are networking for relationships, not sales” which many fail to recognise. When companies focus on the tangible sales that are generated, they forget that an increased profile, better market knowledge and self-development is just as important as this is what leads to the sales.

When you've been to networking events as a delegate have you mostly focused on generating the tangible or intangible value from networking events? And which have you found more successful?

MeganMegan Harrisonhttps://twitter.com/meganlucy1989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33097494.post-5424311101713746312010-06-05T10:01:53.741+00:002010-06-05T10:01:53.741+00:00Totally agree with Andy regarding the difference o...Totally agree with Andy regarding the difference of networking and ponzi schemes.
The core value for your networking must be "helping others". Ponzi scheme...Thank you for your question Sylvana.

Ponzi schemes and networking are two very different things. Ponzis are fraudulent schemes based on investing money on the promise of very high short-term returns.

Networking is founded on people collaborating with each other, sharing their expertise, ideas, experience and contacts to help each individual achieve their own personal objectives more easily. Money is not typically involved, nor is networking based around investment programmes.

You may be thinking about network marketing models, where distributors look to build their own 'network' of other distributors and get rewarded partly based on those results, but that is another model from either of the aboveAndy Lopatahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09727833067768795959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33097494.post-21296904221179162202010-06-05T04:47:33.034+00:002010-06-05T04:47:33.034+00:00Andy, why a modern network concept is not a Ponzi ...Andy, why a modern network concept is not a Ponzi scheme, in yours opinion?
Thanks in advance!Sylvanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05745487629947641168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33097494.post-425046820730232092010-06-03T07:23:28.262+00:002010-06-03T07:23:28.262+00:00Thank you both for your comments. The label provides a positive as well as a negative, providing the focus to do more effectively what we already do naturally.

Jordi, thank you for the additional resources. Networking is a powerful tool whatever the culture (as the article you have posted demonstrates) but, as you point out in your blog, it's the experience of formal networking that may differ.

I think there is a journey for any culture accepting networking as a valuable and valid business tool for the first time. If nothing else it will be interesting to see a UK spin on things. I'd like to recommend (I firmly believe that the more info the better, especially when it comes to ways to grow your business) Fast Track Networking by Queen of Networking Lucy Rosen. It's coming out next month (already have my copy pre-ordered!) and is filled with tips, step-by-step methods to network, success stories and do's and don'ts. I'm not particularly great at networking, but with business down and finding the need to get out there and be more visible. I know of Lucy Rosen and how successful she's been, so I know she's going to have some great information for anyone in business, whether it's starting one, growing business or even looking for a new career.Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12553309379795237911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33097494.post-44470693413785196682010-05-10T21:07:11.648+00:002010-05-10T21:07:11.648+00:00Thank you Radu. But recently, hardware and software advances have allowed us to start using technology to connect with each other. That might be an overstated way of saying that social media is not another tech fad. Sure, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc may be fads, and could come and go in the next few years. But the concept of using technology to help us do what we are driven to do as humans is not going to go away. We want to connect, to engage, to contribute, to interact.
